How long will my phone take to repair?

If you visit our walk in centre most repairs are undertaken within 24 - 48 hours subject to parts availability.

If you need your phone back sooner a 24 Hour Express Service is available for only £9.95, your mobile phone repair is then given priority treatment.

If the repair is chargeable how can I pay?

We accept cash, cheques, Mastercard, Visa, Switch and Maestro cards.

What warranty do I get with a chargeable repair?

Out of warranty repairs carry a 90 day warranty for the same fault reoccurring. All warranty repairs are governed by the manufacturers warranty date.

Do I need to send my simcard or memory card with my phone?

No FoneFix will not be held responsible for simcards or memory cards received.

Will I lose any data from my Mobile Phone?

We endeavour to keep all information intact, unless it is necessary to remove as a part of the repair. These repairs usually include software problems or liquid damage. If your data is particularly important please do let us know when you send in your mobile phone.

How are my private details treated? Will my details be passed on to anybody else?

We respect customers privacy and as such your details will never be passed on to any third party.

What if my phone cannot be repaired or I choose not to continue with repair after receiving estimate?

If your phone is determined to be unrepairable or you don't wish to continue with repair, you can either pay the return shipping fee plus inspection fee and have the phone returned or you can request that the phone be discarded or recycled free of charge.

How do I find if my handset is liquid/water damaged?

There is humidity sensitive indicators on most of the handset and handset batteries. They change their color from 'white' to 'pink' or even 'red' depending on the damage.

The iPhone 2G has an indicator that is normally white at the base of its headphone jack. The newer 3G, 3GS, and 4 have indicators both in the headphone jack, and on the bottom of the dock-connector housing.

The best way to look at the indicator is by aiming a flashlight or lighted magnifying glass into the jack. If the iPhone has been submerged in liquid, or has liquid damage, this circular indicator would be triggered and colored red or pink.

What to do if your phone gets wet?

Immediately turn off the phone. Do not turn it back on, charge it, or connect it to a computer or other device.

Second, hand dry your phone as best you can with a soft cloth. Remove your SIM card and pat down any excess moisture and wipe out the headphone and charge ports.

Next, quickly place the phone in a bag of uncooked rice and let it sit for 48 hours in a dry place. You can also add silica packages to the rice to help the absorption process. The rice will absorb any moisture that remains in the phone.

After 48 hours have passed remove your phone, re-insert the SIM, and try turning it back on. With a little bit of luck you may have saved your iPhone from a watery fate.

I would prefer to bring my Mobile Phone in person, can I drop it off?

Yes, you can either drop it in and collect once it's ready. Our repair centre is in York, the same as our delivery address.

What kind of parts do you use for repairs?

We only use 100% genuine parts where possible. If original parts are not available we will source the next best thing OEM parts from the same factories that produce the parts.

When do I pay for the repair?

We'll start by inspecting the Mobile Phone, if the fault is as you described on the quote system (i.e. you selected a broken screen and this was correct), we'll repair it and send you a email as soon as it's finished requesting payment. If the repair is more serious than described, then we'll contact you by phone and email, if the price is acceptable then we'll repair your phone and advise you when it's ready.

How can I pay for any purchases?

We accept payment by cash, Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Maestro cards. Alternatively you can send a cheque however; this may delay the despatch of your items.

How are your purchases delivered?

All items are dispatched using Royal Mail delivery services and will require a signature upon delivery. If you are not in at the time of delivery Royal Mail will leave a card instructing how to collect your package.

Can I return goods?

Goods can be returned unopened in their original packaged condition within 28 days of purchase for a full refund.
