arrow Mobile phone repair Questions

Q - How long will my phone take to repair?
A - If you visit our walk in centre most repairs are undertaken within 24 - 48 hours subject to parts availability. 90% of warranty repairs received by post are carried out on site within 48 hours of receipt. If we are unable to repair your phone on site it will be sent back to Nokia for repair or exchange. The average turnaround time for phones returned to Nokia is 2 weeks.

24 Hour Express Service is available for only £9.95, ensuring your mobile phone repair is given priority treatment.

Q - If the repair is chargeable how can I pay?
A - We accept cheques, Mastercard, Visa, Switch and Maestro cards

Q - Does the 24 month warranty apply to all Nokia and Samsung phones?
A - No, it only applies to Samsung handsets manufactured after 1st May 2006 and Nokia handsets manufactured after 1st April 2005.

Q - How can I check my phone is in warranty?
A - If available, check your proof of purchase for warranty status. Alternatively call FoneFix and a member of staff will advise warranty dates.

Q - How can I check my Samsung phone is still in warranty?
A - Simply look on the reverse of the phone at the serial number e.g. S/N: 91CL700024P. You may have to remove the battery in order to see the serial number. The 4th digit represents the year of manufacture and 5th digit represents the month of manufacture. Check against the codes below to determine whether your phone is in or out of warranty.

However, If you are still unsure, one of our qualified engineers (upon receiving the phone) will determine whether it is a free warranty repair or an out of warranty repair and contact you to discuss any repairs.

Q - What warranty do I get with a chargeable repair?
A - Out of warranty repairs carry a 90 day warranty for the same fault reoccurring. All warranty repairs are governed by the manufacturers warranty date

Q - Are all in warranty repairs free?
A - Only Nokia and Samsung phones that are less than 24 months old are entitled to free warranty repairs. All repairs to other manufacturers handsets, such as Sony Ericsson and Motorola, are treated as an out of warranty repair and are chargeable. Visit out out of warranty section for a repair estimate.

Q - Do I need to send my simcard or memory card with my phone?
A - No FoneFix will not be responsible for simcards or memory cards received.


arrow Car Kit Installation Questions

Q - How long does the installation take?
A - We will provide you with a 2 hour time slot for your installation. Installations can often be done quicker than this, however please allow 2 hours.

Q - When will my car kit be installed?
A - Most installs are completed 5 or more working days from booking date. This allows for parts to be ordered and dispatched to you prior to the install date. All appointments are Monday to Friday, 09.00 and 17.00.

Q - Where will the installation take place?
A - We will install at a location of your choice, preferably off the road side. For safety reasons we cannot work on busy roads or public pay car parks. In the event of poor weather a covered area will be required to protect your vehicle. If this is not available and poor weather curtails the installation a cancellation charge is applicable. Please see terms and conditions.

Q - Will the vehicles dashboard be drilled?
A - No. If we are fitting a cradled car kit we utilise a non-damaging bracket so that if removed it leaves no evidence of it ever being fitted.

Q - Will my stereo mute when a call is received?
A - All our car kits support radio muting. Please note however, that the stereo fitted in your vehicle will dictate whether the radio mutes. To guarantee radio muting we suggest that you select an Advanced type installation that integrates the audio with your stereo and provides radio muting.

Q - How can I pay for any purchases?
A - We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Maestro cards. Alternatively you can send a cheque however, this may delay the dispatch of your items.

Q - How are your purchases delivered?
A - All items are dispatched using Royal Mail delivery services and will require a signature upon delivery. If you are not in at the time of delivery Royal Mail will leave a card instructing how to collect your package.

Q - Can I return goods?
A - Goods can be returned unopened in a saleable condition within 28 days of purchase for a full refund.
